Truer to Nature

Our bodies evolved with sunsets and firelight. These evening light sources allow melatonin production to rise naturally so we can sleep and our bodies can repair.

Some no-blue-light LEDs peak around 580nm. Calm Lighting peaks deeper at 610nm and 1600K, closer to the light your circadian system expects at night.

FAQs

Where should I use Calm Lighting?

Anywhere you spend time after sunset. Bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms and hallways are the most common spots. The Calm Bulb fits standard E27 and B22 lamps and ceiling fixtures. The Calm Lamp is portable and rechargeable, so it works well as a bedside light, desk lamp, for nighttime trips to the bathroom - so compact and light you will gladly take it on your trips.

Will the Calm Bulbs fit my existing lamps?

Available in E27 (screw) and B22 (bayonet), the two most common fittings in Australian homes. E14 coming soon! Or select the Calm Lamp for soothing portable light wherever you go.

What's the difference between Calm Lighting and "warm white" bulbs?

Warm white LEDs (2700-3000K colour temperature) still emit significant blue light. They look warmer than the average bulb but your body still absorbs the blue light. The Calm Bulb at 1600K at 610nm is a deep warm amber and emits zero emissions in the blue light spectrum.

How are these different to other no blue lighting products I've seen?

Most amber or no-blue-light LEDs on the market peak around 580-590nm. Calm Lighting peaks deeper at 610nm, which is closer to firelight. This means a warmer, more natural glow and stronger protection for melatonin production.

Are Calm Lighting products safe?

Calm Lighting is spectral tested and is registered for Australian regulatory compliance. Calm Bulbs are classified Photobiological Safety Risk Group 0, meaning they are fully safe for eyes and skin.
